How is a resident different from being a staff member at The Village Church?
The only difference is that you will not officially be on The Village Church’s payroll since you will be raising support with Reliant. You will be involved in all staff meetings/events and given staff responsibilities and experiences.
Are residents paid?
Yes, but residents raise financial support to provide a salary (and benefits if needed) for two years.
How do residents raise support?
Residents go through mandatory training with Reliant, a partnering organization, to learn how to raise support and manage financial gifts and supports. Upon acceptance of an application, individuals will register for training, gain access to the online course content, and start preparing for the workshopping days listed above.
Can I work as a Resident at The Village Church and have another job?
Keeping a full-time job during the Residency would not be feasible. The majority of hours necessary require Residents to work in our offices throughout the week to gain experience.
Is housing provided?
Housing is not provided, and participants are responsible for managing housing on their own. In addition, the resident will be responsible for any moving expenses.
